Common Blackbird (Turdus merula)

The Common Blackbird (Turdus merula) is also known as Blackbird and Eurasian Blackbird and is a species of true thrush.

Turdus merula is 23.5 to 29 centimetres in length, has a long tail, and weighs 80-125 grammes.

The Common Blackbird is omnivorous, eating a wide range of seeds, berries, insects and earthworms. Also small mouses and snakes, but this is not regular.

Little Egret (Egretta garzetta garzetta)

The Little Egret is a extremely rare summer and winter visitor in Switzerland. The subspecies Egretta garzetta garzetta has long black legs with yellow feet and a slim black bill.

The bird was hunted strong in the 19th Century, because its feathers were processed in the fashion industry. This dramatic decline was the result of the massive persecution.

Mountain Sunset

Taken on the way back from the Klausen Pass (1948 m) which is connecting the cantons of Uri and Glarus.

The long distance to the mountain (Hauserhorn, 2751 m) and camera settings like these (72mm, 1/30) may be fine with the image stabilizer, but the really strong wind has forced me to use the tripod.

Also i don’t wanna use the IS.

Mute Swan (Cygnus olor)
